In the days when the gods walked the paths of the earth, the rhythm of existence was set by the Twelve Guardians of the Zodiac. They ruled over the seasons, light, and darkness, and their most powerful creation was the Horn of Time – an artifact that brought order to the universe.

This peace was shattered by the pride of Emperor Xi-Liang. Desiring to stop time and gain immortality, he stormed the Temple of Balance and stole the artifact. However, the Horn, disobedient to the will of a mere mortal, shattered in his hands. With it, reality shattered.
